Music Books and Materials
All books, scores, and materials that are assigned are purchased by the student. It is required that all students have at least one theory book applicable to their level and repertoire that is both stimulating and informative.
Students can, if required, be fully prepared and entered for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams.
Piano
For pre-schoolers, ‘The Wunder Keys Piano Series’ are fun method books which teach piano skills, keyboard awareness and rhythmic understanding. For young beginning students, ‘The Faber & Faber Piano Adventures’ method books are both fun and thorough as they advance at a steady pace.
Beginning adult students may benefit from ‘The Faber & Faber Accelerated Piano Adventures’ series, supplemented by basic technical exercises and short, appealing pieces selected by both the student and teacher.
Intermediate and advanced students are assigned repertoire based on ability.
Singing
‘Singing Lessons for Little Singers’ by Blankenbehler, is tailor-made for children age 4 to 7 years and offers exciting songs and exercises based on proven pedagogical principles and healthy vocal technique.
For ages 7 and up ‘The Full Voice Workbook Series’ is a complete vocal music curriculum that assists in the development of healthy vocal technique, strong vocal ability and musicianship.
Intermediate and Advanced students are assigned repertoire based on ability.
